This is something I've been putting off for years. Starting a blog. Its exciting designing one and coming up with post ideas, then you realize you have no idea how to start a first post.
So to introduce myself to the world of blogging I'm writing up a tutorial for this beautiful headband just in time for the fall season. Enjoy!
Here is my Knot Knitted Headband
4 ply acrylic yarn
size K hook a button (1 inch or larger)
ch = chain
sc = single crochet
sl st = slip stitch
bphdc = back post half double crochet
fsc = foundation sc
**CORRECTIONS have been made to this pattern. Thank you Rachel!
losely ch 55 sts
R1 - sc in second ch from hook, sc in each stitch across
Turn work so you will have sc facing the bottom and bottom of ch facing up.
3 bphdc around first sc, bpdc in each sc to last st, Begin 3 bphdc in next st, bphdc around to the first set of 3 bphdc. (you will make an increase at each end of 2 sts by adding the group of 3)
This is the first group of 3 bphdc
Continue working bphdc around each sc to the end of the R. 3 bphdc in last stitch.
For Rs 3-6 continue bphdc in each stitch and 3 bphdc in middle of each set of 3.
R7 Work bphdc to the opposite end. Stop at the stitch before the first bphdc in the set of 3.
Working IN the last bphdc (see pic 2 below) insert hook and work 3 fsc. You could just ch 3 but doing a fsc will give the button hole more durability.
To make it larger/smaller:
Just add or remove stitches to the starting chain.
To make it thiner:
Add more stitches to the starting chain and take away a few rows.
If you want to make it a inch larger/smaller just add/remove about 3-4 chains to the starting chain.
Hope you enjoy my FIRST tutorial! Please let me know what you think and if you decide to use it I'd love to see pictures of your finished work!
By the way- feel free to sell your finished items.
If you have any issues or trouble making it I'd be more than happy to help!
